April Konvalinka, Ed.D., INHC, serves as Transformation by Design’s Business Associate and Operations Manager. She is a dynamic leader and wellness advocate committed to guiding busy professional women on a transformative journey toward renewed energy and radiance. She believes in the profound impact of saying YES to oneself, awakening inner strength aligned with purpose and fulfillment. With an extensive background in higher education spanning 25 years, April seamlessly intertwines her leadership experience with a passion for holistic well-being, currently serving as an Executive Wellness Coach and Leadership Empowerment Coach.
April's career embodies her IGNITER core value. As a visionary and steward leader, she has steered people and organizations through human-centric leadership strategies, enhancing both the client and employee experience. April excels in leadership development, coaching and talent management, project management, business operations, and strategic planning. Her achievements include co-facilitating impactful diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, spearheading recruitment and marketing strategies, and implementing employee recognition programs.
Additionally, she paved the path for women in facilities by playing a pivotal role as a founding member of an international housing facilities conference. Her dedication extended to a two-year appointment on the executive board of the Association of College and University Officers – International (ACUHO-I), where she served as the Facilities and Physical Environment Chair. April actively contributed to seven new residence hall construction projects, showcasing her expertise in the field. As an accomplished leader, trainer, facilitator, and presenter at regional, national, and international conferences focusing on wellness, April has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to advancing her field.
Beyond her contributions to higher education, April embraced the role of founder and chief executive officer of a health and well-being practice. Certified as an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach in 2022, she provides a comprehensive approach for individuals and groups prioritizing their health and well-being. In her coaching role, April collaborates with clients to rediscover strengths, cultivate confidence, and create a roadmap to a healthier, more vibrant lifestyle they love.
April extends her expertise to corporations, fostering workplace well-being and enhancing wellness programs. She serves as a guide to executive coaching, emphasizing the interconnectedness of all life areas impacting overall well-being and success.
During her tenures as Executive Director of Housing and Residence Life, April managed comprehensive housing enterprises, showcasing her expertise in facilities alongside business operations. Her consulting roles further highlight her ability to elevate business operations and organizational development.
April holds a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and Administration, a Specialist in Community College Teaching and Community College Administration, a Master of Science in College Student Counseling and Personnel Services, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Her diverse educational background equips her with a holistic understanding of individual well-being in leadership. Her unwavering commitment to guiding, supporting, and celebrating others seamlessly aligns with her IGNITER strengths, illuminating the path to wellness and unleashing the full potential in each individual she encounters.
